John founded Landseer Partners in February 2009.  He has been in IT and related sectors since 1980 and active in sales and relationship activities since 1986.  In the industry, he is viewed as a ‘networkers networker’ and ‘Rainmaker’ for his ability to identify and win new name business.

John has acted in a series of sales, business development and marketing roles for some of the UK’s larger IT services companies including Scicon (now EDS),  Logica and CMG (now part of  Logica).  In 2003, he co-founded a bid management  company which helped suppliers to bid for and win large-scale IT opportunities. Recent successful programmes that John helped to win, in a variety of sales and bid pursuit roles,  included the e-Borders programme, elements of the National Identity Scheme and the bringing together of two companies who came first in the initial evaluation of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority (PADA)  Administration Contract.

John is passionate about the need to be professional in all matters relating to selling, specifically, only selling services that can be delivered.  This led to his coining the term, strategic sales architects which endeavours to encapsulate the complete end-to-end sales lifecycle as opposed to more traditional bid and proposal management approaches.

Now in his second half century, but with the optimism of a 21 year old (tempered with some hard won experience and grey sideburns), John regularly gets asked to assist clients in helping them to position and shape sales campaigns.  Having worked in the industry for the time he has, John also possesses a very good knowledge of the major ITO and BPO players (including their strengths and weaknesses) – using this knowledge, he is able to link individuals and organizations together knowing there will be both a good business and cultural fit.

When he has a few spare minutes, John enjoys a nice bottle of wine (A gavi di gavi thank you), watching his horse race (yet to win) and learning to play golf.
