The Context

Our client (Growth Capital Partners LLP) was evaluating investing funds in high tech companies, and were considering Hippo Digital as a potential company to invest in:

  • Hippo is a specialist technical design and delivery technology consultancy (to the UK public sector) providing outcome based services for complex digital transformation programmes - it was founded in 2016.
  • The business provides services across the full digital transformation value chain from defining the business or policy problem, providing an evidence-based solution and user design, delivering the project and engineering the digital product or service.
  • Offices in Leeds and Coventry, employing over 170 people.

Our Role

We conducted extensive due diligence on Hippo's sales pipeline, market demand, competition and growth plans including those of its recent acquisition of Converging Data.

We analysed demand, supply and competitive position in the public sector and on Government frameworks and identified areas of potential growth outside the business plans.

Our key findings showed an Hippo to be an attractive digital transformation player, with a focus on Government strategy and a serious player for a number of UK government framework contracts.
