The Context

Our client had to rebid to be placed on two significant central government frameworks that were being re-let with only limited number of suppliers on each framework:

  • The CCS approach was different from previous frameworks with detailed questions needing to be answered plus a complex pricing model on both frameworks.
  • The Competition was intense as the spend through each framework is likely to be over £1bn per annum.

Our Role

We supported our client throughout the process and led on several areas of the bid.

  • We jointly developed the overall bid plan and resourcing requirements to bid both frameworks.
  • We ran workshops to develop the deal strategy/service solution including the need for sub-contractors. We then developed the win themes and bid narratives for each bid.
  • We provided a bid manager for one of the bids and experienced bid writers who provided bid storyboarding expertise and significant writing skills for both bids.
  • Led the bid writing and organised the bid review process including providing independent bid evaluation audits to ensure high marks at evaluation.

The Outcome

Our client was placed very highly on both of the framework contracts. They were delighted with the outcome and have significantly increased revenues on both contracts. In addition, we helped staff to gain key skills and confidence in writing better structured bids whilst at all times, continually thinking of improving the existing services they are delivering to their end-clients.
